A Dutch shortwave transmitter sent a short pulse. In Oslo it arrived twice, the second copy up to fifteen seconds late. Carl Stormer timed the delays for a month and never explained them. Nobody since has explained them either.
For seventy-two seconds a fixed dish in Ohio recorded a narrowband signal thirty times louder than the sky. Nobody was watching. Days later a volunteer found it on paper and wrote one word in the margin.
