Kryon and Lee Carroll: A Guide to the Original Material

Fifteen numbered books, seven sessions in the United Nations building, a free archive of transcripts and audio, and a teaching about the magnetic field under every human life. Book One names a span of years. A 2010 geophysics paper, which never mentions it, measured one very like it.

An old engraved chart of the Atlantic with curving lines of compass variation, set on a dark blue ground.

Kryon is the name Lee Carroll, a San Diego audio engineer, gives to the entity he says has spoken through him since 1989. The record under that name runs to fifteen numbered books, seven sessions inside the United Nations building in New York, and a free archive of transcripts whose index has reached number 227. This is all of it, in order, with what it says.

It begins at a keyboard. No mountain. No cave. A man plops himself down, "sheepishly" in his own word, at a word processor, a businessman who "hasn't channelled anything more than my TV set for 48 years." He types what comes, "with very little steering correction," and lets "the grammar fall where it may."

The first line is an introduction, and the second half of it is a job title: "Greetings! I am Kryon, of magnetic service."

An artist's rendition of Earth's magnetosphere, the field Book One says Kryon built. Artist's rendition of Earth's magnetosphere. NASA, public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

Under that keyboard, as under every keyboard on Earth, the planet's field runs through the floor and every compass leans with it. In the Canadian Arctic in 1989 the north magnetic pole is creeping along at about 15 kilometers a year, a little over 40 meters a day, less than one Olympic pool. It has kept to that kind of pace for more than a century and a half.

It will not keep to it much longer.

Two Psychics, Three Years Apart

Carroll took a business and economics degree at California Western University and started a technical audio business in San Diego that, in his biography's words, "flourished for 30 years." The same biography says Spirit had to hit him "between the eyes."

His account runs like this. A psychic told him about his spiritual path. Three years later, in early 1989, a second one, unrelated to the first, told him the same thing. Both spoke of "a name that almost nobody had ever heard."

He wrote. The first pages went "timidly" to the metaphysical community in Del Mar, California, and in 1991 he and his partner Jan Tober started the "Kryon light groups" there, in a living room and soon in a church. The book came next: The End Times, "Written in 1989, and published in 1993," by The Kryon Writings, Inc., in a white cover, at $12. Its opening chapter is still posted on Carroll's site.

Kryon says the letters of its name, numbered A=1 to Z=26, add to 83, and 83 adds to 11. They do. It says "The spelling of my name was not supplied by your writer." It hands over "an important power formula," 9944, and leaves the meaning to "discernment and intuition." It calls the human race "ants on a generator, wishing for electricity."

And the writer keeps interrupting. Of one passage on scripture he notes, "I almost didn't write it down," and that he was afraid "lightning might strike me at any moment." Kryon gives two reasons for choosing him: he agreed to it before he was born, and "he has no former training of the Metaphysical system."

Carroll's page for the book quotes Louise Hay: "both self-healing and planetary healing."

Fifteen Books, in the Order They Came

Books One to Three are the foundation: The End Times (1993), Don't Think Like a Human (1994) and Alchemy of the Human Spirit (1995). Each book from One to Six has its own page, kryon.com/k_11.html to k_16.html, in order. Book Two began a fixture, "the SCIENCE chapter," which Carroll says has been in every channeled book since. Book Three, at 376 pages, has a section called "Grid flip validation."

Books Four and Five leave the teaching. The Parables of Kryon (Hay House, 1996) gathers 20 parables, 10 of them in no other Kryon book, and Carroll's page says 19 can be heard free. The Journey Home (Hay House, late 1997) is a novel, drawn from a live channelling at Laguna Hills, California, in December 1996: a man named Michael Thomas, seven angels, seven houses.

Book Six picks the teaching up, and says so. Partnering with God (1997) "continued the teaching channelling of Kryon books one, two and three," across 400 pages, with a chapter on the indigo children and a discussion of Carl Sagan. Which means a reader after the doctrine alone can run One, Two, Three, Six.

After that the books are built from the live sessions. Book Seven, Letters from Home (1999). Book Eight, Passing the Marker (2000), 424 pages, with an index of all eight books. Book Nine, The New Beginning (2002), organized around September 11, 2001. Book Ten, A New Dispensation (2004). Book Eleven, Lifting the Veil (2007). Book Twelve, The Twelve Layers of DNA (2010), which names each layer in Hebrew. Book Thirteen, The Recalibration of Humanity (2013). Book Fourteen, The New Human (2017).

Book Fifteen, Divine Intervention from the Stars, is the newest, written with Monika Muranyi and published by Ariane Books.

Beside the numbered line stand the three Indigo Children books with Jan Tober, from 1999, 2001 and 2009, and four subject books by Muranyi, the project's archivist: The Gaia Effect, The Human Akash, The Human Soul Revealed and The Women of Lemuria. The full books are sold through kryonmasters.com and store.kryon.com. The old book pages carry contents lists and sample chapters. No lawfully free full copy turned up, and none is offered here.

Where the Sessions Are

Carroll's rule is on his welcome page: "Everything that KRYON says in CHANNEL is given away for FREE."

The main shelf is the Channelling menu page, kryon.com/k_25.html. It counts down from number 227, a Healing Wednesday livestream of May 18, 2022, to a session at Banff, Alberta, in September 1997. The free audio lives at menus.kryon.com/freeaudio, filed by year from 2002 to 2026, and the newest sessions are on the Kryon YouTube channel, @kryonleecarroll3491. The United Nations sessions, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009, are gathered at kryon.com/k_un.html. For a new reader Carroll built a door: the Lightworker's Handbook, kryon.com/k_25b.html, five channellings from 2007, given at McCaysville, San Diego, Mount Shasta and twice at Granada.

Each transcript carries the same terms: free to "print out, copy and distribute as you wish," and not to be sold except by the publisher.

Two warnings go with the shelf. The printed page is not always what was said. Carroll records the sessions, and of the ones he transcribes he writes that "Kryon will often further enhance the message." Some pages are "re-channelled," a "channel on top of a channel," and Handbook Lesson Two is "actually a combination of three live channellings." Which puts the audio, not the page, closest to the words in the room.

And the name is open. The word, the site says, "is not proprietary," and Carroll is "not affiliated with any other Kryon channelling." The original material is what sits on these pages.

Of Magnetic Service

Kryon says it built the thing. "I have created the magnetic grid system of your planet," Book One reads, over "eons of Earth time." Magnetism is "the 'couch' that human consciousness & biology has been sitting in for its entire existence." The human mind, on this teaching, is fitted with "implants," limits aligned to that grid. Shift the grid and the limits shift.

And here is the strange part. Kryon says this has been done before. This visit is "my third adjustment, and my fourth and final visit." Of the two earlier adjustments, it says: "In each case, humanity was terminated for this purpose."

The next lines: "All of you agreed to it beforehand, and it was a celebration."

This time, Kryon says, it is not asking for one: "without some understanding many of you will terminate yourselves anyway." The work is under way, "and those of you who follow such things as the movement of magnetic north will know what I am talking about."

Book One gives that work a span. "I arrived in 1989," it says, and "My process will take ten to twelve Earth years." Then: "From now through the year 2002 will be the gradual change." Later sessions fill in the calendar: the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, a "grid group" in 1989. In July 2001 a transcript has Kryon telling a Colorado room, "The year 2002 is the one in which the grids are completed, almost finished," and that the group will leave in December 2002. After that the teaching turns inward, to twelve layers of DNA. Book Fifteen's page takes the line to the stars: human DNA altered by an ascended race from the Pleiades, "440 light years away."

It belongs to an American line of message bearers, from George Adamski in the California desert to George Van Tassel at Giant Rock. Those men spoke of Venus. Carroll's Kryon talks about the compass.

Twenty Minutes in Conference Room 6

A United Nations security guard, Carroll writes, found a Kryon book and "never stopped his quest" until it reached someone at the Society for Enlightenment and Transformation. On November 21, 1995, Carroll and Tober passed the metal detectors with their passports ready. The agenda was exact: 30 minutes of lecture, 30 of questions, 10 of meditation, and Kryon for "20 or less." In Carroll's transcript of the introduction, the host, Mohammad Ramadan, tells the room that Kryon's forecasts "have been validated by puzzled astronomers and physicists." No study is named.

At 2:20 Carroll began to channel, and the voice gave four admonitions. Slow the experiments sending energy through the ground, or "you may actually cause the earthquakes that you fear the most." Stop stripping the forests, because the immune disease then spreading "came from the forest" and was "a forerunner of many like it." Tell the public about the visitors: "Tell your people what you know!" And to the society itself: "Do not hide this group."

Six more invitations followed, the last on November 13, 2009.

If the Field Was Built

Set aside for a moment whether any of it is true. Ask the better question. What kind of planet are we living on if it is?

It would mean the compass reads a made thing. Every needle ever hung on a thread, every ship ever steered by one, would be following a structure somebody designed and somebody services. The drift of magnetic north would stop being a fact of geology. It would be a work order, and we would have been reading it for centuries without knowing it had an author.

It would mean our history has two floors missing. On that reading humanity has been here before and been ended, twice, by agreement, with "a few entities" left "to propagate the biology." Every king list, every oldest city, every first word we have would belong to the third class in the same school. There would be no such thing as the beginning of us. Only the latest one.

It would mean the walls of our own minds were installed. The sense that time runs one way and that all things must start would not be how the universe is. It would be a fitting, like a governor on an engine, and all our physics would be, in Kryon's phrase, "two dimensional science," done by ants on a generator. If that is so, the most honest thing any of us has ever thought may be a limit somebody put there on purpose, with our consent.

And it would leave one thing in front of us. In Book One the two earlier endings are a celebration. This one, on that reading, has been left open. What does a species do with the news that it has agreed to end twice, and that the third time nobody has decided for it?

The Molten Iron and the Recreation Council

The standard account of the field is the one the instruments keep. NASA describes it as "generated by the motion of molten iron in Earth's core." The north dip pole has been located and tracked since James Clark Ross found it in northern Canada in 1831, and in 2010 Arnaud Chulliat, Gauthier Hulot and L. R. Newitt traced its 1990s speed-up to a change in the magnetic field at the core surface under the New Siberian Islands.

On channelling itself the classic statement is Carl Sagan's, in The Demon-Haunted World. Of J. Z. Knight and Ramtha he wrote that "the simplest hypothesis is that Ms Knight makes 'Ramtha' speak all by herself," and he asked why "channellers never give us verifiable information otherwise unavailable."

The room in New York has a plainer size than its address. Carroll's own page calls the society "one of the fifty member clubs of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council," run by staff "in their spare time" for audiences of "about 40-50 people." A 2014 list of UN staff clubs carries the Enlightenment Society. The invitations came from that club.

The genome has a published answer as well. Book Fifteen's publicity leans on the join in human chromosome 2; J. W. IJdo and colleagues described it in 1991 as "the relic of an ancient telomere-telomere fusion," the point "at which two ancestral ape chromosomes fused."

Two government bodies have written about the indigo idea without naming Carroll, Tober or their books. France's MIVILUDES ties the doctrine to what it calls the "Kryeon" movement and warns of children cast as "petits dieux," little gods. Belgium's CIAOSN says the theory dangles before parents of hyperactive children a "cosmico-divine" origin in place of a condition for doctors to treat. Carroll's site says the Kryon work is "not a membership organization." The Skeptic's Dictionary, by Robert Todd Carroll, traces the term to Nancy Ann Tappe's color classifications.

Two Dates in a Journal

Sagan asked for something checkable. Carroll's archive, dated and left online, offers some. Start with Book One. Those two lines, "I arrived in 1989" and "through the year 2002," stand on Carroll's site in a copy the Internet Archive captured on December 9, 2000. The page dates the book to 1993.

In July 2010 the Journal of Geophysical Research printed the Chulliat paper. Kryon is nowhere in it. Its abstract says the pole's speed "increased from about 15 km/yr in 1989 to about 60 km/yr in 2002, after which it started to decrease slightly."

1989. 2002.

It is a resemblance, not a match, and the limits are plain. The paper's two years are the ends of an interval fitted by field models. Its direct observations date the rise from 1984 to 2001, and its introduction says "around 1990." Kryon gave no speed and named a grid, not a pole figure, and Book One's calendar holds other years, 1999 among them. The pole did not stop in 2002. The acceleration ended and the speed held high, near 50 kilometers a year, and NOAA reports about 55 in its latest survey. The paper's authors say it is "not possible to forecast" the pole's future. And the web page is not the print of 1993, which was not opened for this article.

Official X looked for a test of the grid teaching by anyone outside the Kryon work. It did not find one.

The United Nations session of 2009 shows how much looser such a line can be. The page speaks of "potentials." It says "several old-energy dictatorships" will go, that "their own people will remove them," and it names no country. The Internet Archive holds that page as it stood on January 14, 2010. On January 14, 2011, Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali fled Tunisia, and other rulers kept their seats.

The same page says, "It's not going to take long and you will see the North Korean issue disappear." In 2026 the International Atomic Energy Agency reported a new uranium enrichment building at Yongbyon.

Two lines too loose to score. One span of years that is not.

Where the Record Stands

The work goes on. The official calendar lists Carroll and Muranyi at Austin, Texas, on November 21, 2026, thirty-one years to the day after Conference Room 6, with seminars booked into 2027. Book Fifteen is on sale. The transcript index stops at May 2022, the audio shelf runs on to 2026, and the newest sessions go to YouTube, beside a paid Healing Wednesday membership.

For a reader starting today the order is short. Book One's first chapter, online. The five Handbook lessons. The 1995 session at kryon.com/k_20.html, for the four admonitions. Then the audio, for the voice itself.

One item in the whole archive sits apart. At the United Nations in 2007, Kryon spoke of an African Union that "probably will not be seen for 50 years," and of a man to be born in "approximately 65 to 70 years" who at 36 would lead in Africa, "a young, new leader" with "a black face," his leadership "spiritual, not political." That man, the transcript says, would be Carroll himself. In 2009 it came back to a union of states with a common money and "more economic influence than any continent has ever had." An African Union already existed by then, launched at Durban in July 2002. The transcripts speak of one further off. "You will not see it take place," the 2009 page says, "for it is two generations away; half a century will go by."

There is no way to run that test early. The transcript knows it: "the ones in this room won't live long enough to know if Kryon is right or not. But the recordings of those words are here, forever."

Free to print, copy and distribute. The one thing nobody can do with it yet is check it.

Questions This Leaves You With

Is there anything a person actually does with this?

The honest timescale comes first. On Kryon's own calendar the grid work ended in 2002, and its largest open prophecy runs past most lifetimes, so nothing here puts a clock on your week. You can read it, and most of it costs nothing. The books, courses and memberships are for sale; Carroll says every channelled session is posted free. Separate your own life from the civilizational question, whether any dated message can be tested at all, because that one is still unanswered. Anyone selling a date is selling something.

Does this sit against a religious account of the world?

It cuts both ways. At the United Nations in 1995 the voice said it came from "the same source that spoke to Moses from the Burning Bush," and Book One says "We are the great 'I AM.'" A person of faith can hear that as a claim too far, or as a very old idea told in new words. Book One also asks Christians to keep their eyes on Jesus the teacher. Which way it falls for your faith is not something this site will tell you.

Does this change what a human life is?

Put your own years beside all this: a third class in an old school, walls fitted to your mind, an agreement you cannot remember making. For some readers that makes a life smaller, a part played under a contract. For others it makes a life rarer, because the voice told that room in 1995, "You are the ones who have made the difference on this planet." You will know which one you felt. Neither reaction asks anything of you, and nothing here says you should think differently tomorrow.

What would change your mind, in either direction?

Name it now, because it gets harder later. Toward the claim: a first printing of Book One with the 2002 line in it; a test of the grid by someone outside the work; a measurement of anything in the field that the core and crust cannot account for. Against it: a first printing without that line; a full tally of Kryon's dated statements that runs no better than chance; a North Korea that goes on as it is. Decide which of those you would accept before you go looking.

Was the year 2002 in the first printing?

This is a real gap and it is checkable. The sentence naming 2002 stands in the text Carroll posts, and the Internet Archive has that text from December 2000. Whether it stood in the 1993 printing, or in pages Carroll dates to 1989, this investigation could not see. The Kryon Writings printed the book, copies survive, and later editions may differ. A reader with an early copy could settle it by turning to the first chapter. If you own one, the answer may already be on your shelf. It is the earliest page the resemblance rests on.
