The Seven-and-a-Half-Foot Skeleton in the Smithsonian's Own Report
In 1894 the Smithsonian's Bureau of Ethnology published Cyrus Thomas's Report on the Mound Explorations. On page 426 it records a skeleton 7 1/2 feet long in a burial mound in West Virginia, and other very large skeletons elsewhere. Writers on the Nephilim of Genesis read these entries as giants. This investigation sets out the entries, the giant case built on them, the archaeologists' account and what was never re-measured.
